Living in San Jacinto, California

Like many Riverside County communities, San Jacinto was founded by farmers and ranchers in the 19th century, bringing western and European cultures to southern California. Today San Jacinto maintains much of its early heritage while bringing modern amenities and community enrichment to its contemporary residents. Lying at the base of Mt. San Jacinto and at the entrance to Lamb's Canyon, San Jacinto is also the gateway to regional recreation and sports, including hiking, skiing, fishing and camping. The desert playgrounds of Palm Springs and the Colorado River are just a few hours away. There are also several Native American cultures indigenous to the region, providing a rich cultural heritage that benefits the community through nearby tribal gaming at both the Soboba and Pechanga Tribal Casinos.
